You need to take your tape(s) to a posthouse with an (ie)
Grass Valley switcher. These can take your alpha images and
cut the key a lot cleaner than the Toaster. You'll even get
soft edges, and transparency if your animation has any.
P.S. if you're lucky, you won't even need the alpha frames.
You might be able to get a good-enough luma key with the GVG
switcher.
